Have a homebrew tube preamp based on Brian Clark PAS design, phono circuit has 30db gain, line stage 20db. Have always used MM phono carts or HO moving coils, but I'd like to try a Denon DL-103R and will need stepup trannies. I have room inside the chassis at the phono input for a pair of LL9206's hardwired ahead of the phono circuit. Is this the preferred location (as opposed to outboard)? Any precautions or suggestions? I'm thinking the 20db (10:1) termination (output of 103R is 0.25mv). I have the phono input load at 47k, does changing this resistor to 15k sound correct for the 103R? Any suggestion for input capacitor? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
