Re: RAKK DAC on Batteries

I have tried AC, 12v battery straight to the RAKK-DAC and 18v battery through the minimal reactance supply. To my ears:

In order I prefer

18v through reactance supply
AC
12v direct to DAC board

With the 12v the background is blacker but there seem to be some slight veil in the midrange.

With 18v the veil is gone.

Not sure why battery with the regulator is better.

I run lead acid battery (12V+6V) with 10,000uf capacitor in parallel.

Would be interesting to try separate supply for Tent XO-DAC clock.
