Remember most of these devices are going to use a clock multiplier PLL to generate the 48Mhz clock for the USB bus, so they can use an external crystal at 6mhz or so...And in addition to that, there is going to be the standard 8051 microcontroller inside there chugging away... and if we 'just' do a straight USB implementation the system ground will be shared with the computer, which may not be exactly ideal.
There's plenty of ways for digital noise to get into a USB DAC, they're not immune to the problems...
