Hi Dave,One possibility would be for you to test the water by adding an SPDIF/USB converter "daughter card" to your lineup. That would give existing owners an upgrade path and pull in those of us who are waiting behind the log to jump into the PC transport party. While you determined where the market was going you could be thinking about the next redesign of your DAC that would include a straight USB input without SPDIF conversion.
Do some searching on the web. You will be amazed at the number of small form factor (sff) "silent" PCs that are showing up. These are aimed at the multimedia crowd. PCAudio is definitely the future.
If you really wanted to develop a marketable product you could develop an ethernet to USB adaptor which would allow any USB device to hang off a LAN. I do realize that this would be a wide departure from your current focus.
My fantasy DAC would have three inputs: SPDIF, USB, and ethernet. Someone will be doing this within a year I bet...
Keep up the good work.
Best,
Paul
