The usual E-I transformer will pick up magnetic fields and do so in a way that may not be cancelable in a diff amp. A two coil c-core transformer hooked up appropriately is hum-bucking to a certain degree, depending on orientation in the field. Of course, a more simple solution is to put the IT in a steel case or can. If that doesn't reduce the hum, then its source is not a magnetic field.
