Well, it sounds like a pair of EL34s or KT-88s would be enough for you. I and others favor fully p-p transformer coupled circuits for these sorts of power levels. Without using global negative feedback, they convey dynamics and support musical nuance very well. Look at this link for an example of such an amp.
