Parallel tubes would certainly work, but with a few low Rp tubes already available, I'm not sure that they are necessary. I haven't heard a compelling demonstration of the negatives of paralleled tubes myself, although I know that this is regarded as "common wisdom".Unless you need more gain, I can't see the advantage of yet another stage. However, I haven't done the extensive experiments that would be necessary to verify this assertion. My 3 stage 2A3 driver amp is certainly a little on the low side with about 22dB of gain (input transformer wired for 6dB of gain), but it works fine.
