Although it may seem on the surface that the cascade pair suggest redundancy, each transformer serves a specific purpose. The one in the RAKKDAC output card converts a current drive from the DAC to a 2V output drive compatible with any line stage. The Indigo input tranny does a phase splitting function for the PP gain stage that follows.
