Continuing RAKK sound installment

It seems as though the possibilties are endless with the new RAKK dac. I have listened to more digital music in the past three weeks than I have in very long time. I can hardly put something on as background music without stopping to sit down for a half an hour, mesmorized. There is something new going on here and, I think, it has to do with resolution, better timing(dynamics?) and harmonics. When you can hear into the recording in a way that defines, not only hall or club space, but also ringing or shimmering harmonic decay from acoustic instruments and the combination of instruments, at times, it has to be higher resolution. The RAKK dac does these kinds of things very well. I hear stuff in recordings that I never heard before. Little dynamic peaks and little cues tell so much more about what's going on. It's hard to generalize but I'm trying to convey the idea of completeness of communication that the RAKK dac is capable of. I know technology moves at a lightening pace and something better will come along but, we are here right now, and I'm so glad that I got up off my butt and bought one. When I sit down to listen I can't peg this sound as digital, and that is just phenomenal. Oh well, enough of that, the idea is that the relationship of all these aspects of digital sound we always talk about come together as a whole more than I have ever heard before. Ever thought you could hear around instruments or singers in a hall, or thought you sensed sounds coming from behind you? Thanks Dave for the explanation of the resistor on the passive output board. I never think about it. I just want to put on another CD. Have fun!
