> is 22mV too much ripple?Hmmmmm. Depends upon a lot of factors, but if my experience is anything to go by, then it is 20 - 40db too much ripple for SE, it is almsot too much ripple for a well balanced PP Amp.
My current PP Amp's have around 2mV ripple of the output stage and you can hear the step dwon there from around 20mV ripple. It may not translate directly into audible hum (I find 0.5mV output hum tolerable in most amplifiers) but hum is not all....
