Thanks to you both for your answers.I am in the process of building Mr. Davenport's line amp. Could one simply use this after the processor? Or are there differences between the two?
Is Kevin serious about the ALESSI device? If it is really good that would make a rather inexpensive transport.
Thanks for the explanation of SACD. I have never heard it, never have seen one of the machines so it is all a mystery to me. There still seems to be a rather pathetic selection of music in the format. NO DOUBT, working around "red book" is far more important at this time. I would like to think SACD is as good as it is said to be and if that is true that, someday, all titles will be available, but that seems to be WAY into the future.
What do you two think of oversampling? Could this be something you might consider adding to the mix in the future? I would like to hear your opinions.
I know I want to try this out. AS you surmised, I am presently using the THETA and I guess for lack of a better explanation, I am tired of it. All of that "processing" does some interesting things but you wonder if that is what is tiring. I do not think I am brave enought to come up with $7000.00 to upgrade to the VIII. Expecially since I doubt any dealer near me is going to have one in stock to try out.
Thanks, again, for your efforts.
Rick McInnis
