The LL2911 is intended as the transformer used in the mic to step up the miniscule voltage generated by the vibrating ribbon. It would be a replacement for the transformer already there in your classic Coles mics. Many have used the LL2911 to replace the stock transformers to good sonic advantage in their classic RCA ribbon mics.
