I have a pair of these IT's which I intended to use in a parafeed PP->PP configuration like Gary Dahl's Auroras. Currently I'm playing with a PP813 triode design and wanted to use them in a traditional anode loaded manner, with a CCS in the cathodes of the driver tubes to make the stage differential. If they were 5mA versions, I would just go ahead, however I presume the 1635PP will saturate very easily with any imbalance between the tubes (they're matched) even though the CCS will remove most of this. My question is, can they take any DC at all, and if so how much? From the spec sheets, I'm interpreting that by the nature of their design there is a small airgap and hoping I might be able to get away with a mA or two if the circuit needs it in practice. If I can't use them in this manner, I'll use some CCS and parafeed but my PSU isn't quite high enough to do it the way I'd like, and buy some 1635/5mA later.
Cheers
