Thanks Kevin,I have been working on a 300B SET for a year or so and it just doesn't seem to get the realistic (or maybe nicer than realistic) timbre of several vintage PP amps I have owned or the clarity of my former 211 amps. I did hear an Arthur Loesch PP 300B once that was also very nice - I heard a cheap PP KT88 amp over the weekend that better than I would have suspected possible.
I'm thinking that an A-core KT88 PP might be the best of both worlds, although I admit to being facinated by 4X 300B PP :)
