I have done that in Oct 2003. I keep both the RCA output and the trans output stage using LL7902. The sound of the two are quite close and I cannot tell which is better as it is a matter of taste. Power supply using 3 7805 and three LM317 (for DAC and op-amp). Since the RCA op-amp output is using NE5532, which is not the best op-amp available and I shall try to change that in future. I also change all electrolytic cap to audio grade or film cap to improve the sound. One point to note that I use 2:1 optional to lower down the output level of DAC as it is too high for my application with a Mu-stage pre-amp using 6DJ8/12BY7 and 6SN7/300B SET 8W power amp. I have no photo yet but I shall try to put up some in future and happy to answer any question you have.
