alternative for LL1660 18 ma

Hello
I have a LL1660 (18 ma ) (SE to PP) which can be used for phasesplitting ( for example with ecc99 ) to drive 2A3 or 6B4 in PP .
As an alternative I could use a 1540 input transformer for phase splitting and a 1660 PP version as interstage to drive the 6b4 tubes .
Which configuration should give the best results (ecc99 as driver tube )
