Thanks Kevin. I believe the circuit calls for 30mA. This seemed to be a concern. A transformer that could handle that. I hear most off the shelf trannies cannot. 5K-500 is the called for ratio. Sounds like the LL1660 might work? I guess the main concern with a non-parafeed transformer output circuit is that if the transformer is anything less than stellar, you can have rolloff at the extremes. Especially the lows. Thinking out loud here. Please help me understand.
