Dear all,
I'd like to ask a question about a particular application for the film cap power supply module.
I have a 300B amp requiring a total of 200mA current. It has a choke-input tube-rectified power supply, with 460-0-460 primary into a 5AR4, with choke-input LC then RC filtering. There is still significant noise on the B+ rail. I'd like to use the PS module in "virtual choke" mode to lower noise in the B+ rail.
It looks like I will be exceeding the specs in the instructions, at least in terms of AC supply. Does this mean I can't use the module in this application? In addition, I'd like to understand why, if I'm using an independent rectifier, I still need to connect the AC taps to the module along with the DC rectifier output.
Thanks in advance,
Robert
