I have experimented with various PS caps in my tube preamplifier. It came with a set of 33 and 100uf run of the mill electolytic caps in its connection to the rectifier tube and choke circuit.
For a while i experimented with ASC oil& P. caps for the same positions and noticed an exageration in sibilance in the voices -when there was sibilance in the recordings-.
I went back to the stock electrolytics and the sibilance is not that pronounced, kind of more natural.
I was wondering if physical size of the caps have anything to do with this.
And I also read in these forums that ASC are prone to ringing in the 4 to 5K frequencies.
Thank you for any comments.
