Thank you for your response. Some further clarifications, if I may:
>”It is best if you can follow the indicated connection for AC and cathode etc. Cathode resistor should stay the same”<
?? Should the center tap be left unterminated in this context?
>”But the main thing is AC input voltage needs to be about 1.5v above required DC output voltage.”<
?? Is it implied that my PS transformer spec may not be appropriate in this context, and a new filament supply transformer would be needed?
?? What utility may the voltage adjustment pot in the filament supply circuit have here, or, alternatively, what may be the downside with adjusting it?
?? would using one-half the 3.15V – 0V – 3.15V winding as 0V – 3.15V be feasible if the power tube were a 2A3 with the 2.5V filament voltage requirement?
>”You can tell if there isn't enough headroom as noise will go up.”<
?? What is the aural character of the noise you refer to, or is this an o-scope indication?
?? In general, since power transformer capability are typically matched to tube filament voltage requirements (6.3V drives 6.3V, 5V drives 5V, etc), would use of the DIY filament supply imply that it is not a drop in component per se, since a new filament transformer will typically be required to get the 1-1.5V headroom?
Thank you for your time.
