Hi,
I have a Chazz with Sen. 650 headphones.
Nice sound but I am not experienced with valve amps so cannot say more than I like the Chazz.
The Sen. 650 is very sensitive (103dB from memory) which means the Chazz will drive it very very easily. Always turn on with the volume well well down.
I am thinking of reducing the gain in each channel or for each adding a resistor in series with the output to the headphone socket. Have not done this yet but 300 ohm should give about 6dB drop (1/2 volume) and 1000 ohm should give about 18 dB. The mod should be very easy, the bottom comes off nicely and access is not a problem on my unit, and by trial and error you should find a resistance value that allows the volume pot to be used more.
The resistor mod should lessen the load and smooth it out on the output transformers. The output transformers are loaded by the parallel combination of the headphone and a 20 ohm resistor. So putting in the resistor mod would mean the output transformer is closer to being loaded only by the 20 ohm resistor. The cost is loss of volume but with the Sen 650 I think this is not problem.
Cheers
Richard
