Basie Mk II linestage question

Hi...

I have a Basie Mk II pre-amp. I was thinking of building another line only pre, total diy from scratch really just to use up some spare bits in my parts box and something to do :) I'm out of practice at diy from scratch, too many kit builds.

However my HT tx is only 130V when rectified and smoothed after a choke. The Basie normally runs at 190V. Would it work ok at that kind of voltage or should I lower the HT resistors (200K and 22K).

Also is it possible to lower the gain of this circuit to almost unity gain so it could be used as a pure tube buffer stage ? I like the Basie II circuit since it sounds very solid and focused and works wounders on a thin sounding system.

Regards

David
