A player like this can reach down and capture more of the information on the disk. The digital bit survival rate is much higher.
A good player changes the way one buys CDs. One can buy more by repertoire than recording quality. Yesterday I bought a handful of Naxos disks (49HKD here, about $6USD), all Mozart, all sound good.
