Some questions about amorphous TVC

Hi.
I've recieved amorphous TVC.
And I'm examining this with circuit diagram before assembling.
(Actually I'm not sure if I can do this well, because I'm a beginner.)

Now I have some questions.

1. I think that the wire labeled "0" should be connected to ground-point. Am I right?

2. And the first position of rotary switch should also be grounded, because this is mute position, right?

3. When I received TVC, I saw that "-" and "++" wires were tied up together but "+" and "--" were not. Is there any special reason to do this?

4. According to the manual, every wire has its own color-composition, but mine has only "red" color. Doesn't it matter?
(Of course I can distinguish them by label...)
