Start with a 1meg linear pot and choose resistor shown to get resistance needed, ie 50k for 50k log taper pot. Lower value tends to give more friendly taper. Otherwise sound comes on quickly at the beginning and fine adjustment is pushed to the 12oclock position.Brian
