Re: 47'ing the Class A Joplin - Final Results

I was lucky to actually heard Josh's VV 45 IT Parafeed coupled driving an 845 Parafeed output amp in my system before he sent it off to Ed Sawyer. But only for a couple hours:-(

Don't tell Ed, he is the jealous type:=)

Best sounding amp I had heard, up to that point, at least with my rather "normal" Scan Speak MTM speakers. His 75TL driving 75TL is another thing altogether, but not more than 8 watts, IIRC. MUCH better sounding now than at CES/T.H.E., as he had not yet received the new Tribute Iron in it at CES/T.H.E.

That said, when it comes to value for $$$, I really would like to try the Joplin with 46's or 47's, perhaps even 6A3's, or WE 275A's as those tubes are out there at fairly reasonable prices, even today, well not the WE 275A's which go for about $100+ each NOS.

But first I have to build the Cole, so I can get moving on the Vinyl front. All that Vinyl out there and me me no phono preamp:-(

Too many projects, no enough time!
