..."Go for a walk, kayak the river, bike the trail, play an instrument, talk to a loved one, listen to some music, cook a meal, read a book ... " Just how on earth did you get your life back on track after receiving such sage, gratuitous but sage nonetheless, advice?

The body of your post is well written but I will leave it to others to comment further on its content.

It is good to see you back posting.

Be careful Sox. I'm a marked man it seems and I'd hate to see you punished for communicating with a trouble maker.

Typically the mods like to censor any indication of their petulant hypocrisy. ~t, posted on October 20, 2009 at 16:11:15

"Go for a walk,"

I walk the dog twice a day through a great park that has a winding creek running through it. Takes about 90 minutes, but it's good for the both of us.

"kayak the river,"

Not after September in the mid-Atlantic region of the USA. I advise against hypothermia, but that's me-I'm Conservative.

"bike the trail"

I have a hybrid I bought 6 months ago, but I really prefer the road. Trails are for hiking. When I ride a bike, I want a street. I bike with the wife 3 times a week on average. And I support my local bike shop.

"play an instrument,"

I play a Japanese Lawsuit Rick bass copy from the 70's.....badly I might add, and I have a 6 string Alvarez acoustic. I have a Phoenix Electra electric guitar from my teen-aged years which is hysterically gaudy but sounds great.

"talk to a loved one"

I do that everyday. Happens when you have family and friends.

"listen to some music"

I try but not as often as I'd like. Happens when you have family and friends. Listening To Esperanza Spalding lately. What a beautiful kid, extremely talented, great singer to boot and strikes an on-stage pose that will one day be a trade mark.

"cook a meal"

As opposed to what?

"read a book"

Because one can read too many instruction manuals.
