I hope I'm not the only one disturbed by deletion of all RBNG's posting history at AA.

There's nothing in the rules suggesting this, and moreover - possibility of this was denied multiple times by different moderators over the years, regarding other posters, including permanently banned.

I have no sympathy whatsoever for RBNG's persona and beliefs, and am as annoyed as the next guy by his non-audio-related posts - but that's not the point. Where's guarantee I, or anybody else for that matter, am not going to be next on the chopping block?

What's going on?

Well we can't begrudge him the nice Parting Gift!

Everything matters, don't forget to tweak your placebos!

No surprise - for years I've felt he was his own worse enemy. It IS a swell parting gift though!...N/T, posted on October 19, 2009 at 11:16:04

When we do a search by author, we find many, many posts:
http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/search.mpl?searchtext=&b=AND&topic=&topics_only=N&author=Richard+BassNut+Greene&date1=&date2=&slowmessage=&sort=score&sortOrder=DESC&forum=ALL

Yet, when we go to his profile (by clicking on (A), we find:
Richard BassNut Greene - Music Lover/Audiophile
United States
Posts: 30
Date Registered: October 14, 2009
Systems: 1. My Stereo is Better Than Your Stereo
Gender: Male

So, it appears he deleted his account, and then re-registered on 10/14/09.

As you can see, we didn't do that.

All his posts have not (yet?) been deleted and his previous posting record was probably "poof"ed if he cancelled his account while he was trying to decide who to be next on AA after he returned from his vacation. That's why it shows he made 24 (or whatever the number may be) posts and only 4 are listed. There's no record of his brief foray as Robert "Bob" Wire, AA may have snuffed that or RBNG did.

Former AA member hermanesque (A), recently cancelled his account and in doing so self-deleted his posting record. It is my understanding that only members can delete their entire posting records. I've seen many members do this over the years and start anew. Who knows why?

I think you'd need to work hard and be quite diligent to end up on the chopping block, as would most of us. RBNG worked hard at it, seemed to be given many opportunities to
get his act together, but was incapable of doing so. I think in his case there's a fine line between being banned or just not being allowed to post here.

At some point one of the mods may hip us to that distinction.

I find it amazing that you actually take the time to monitor someone whom you admit "annoys you by his non-audio-related posts"

This in itself is "what's going on"--- and it came down to just that imho.

I hope it gives you the comfort you seek.
