Well, Phillies weren't up to it this year. Moneyball is the game.

I for one am really weary of baseball at this point.

The "fall classic" has been winterized.

Instead of having the World Series on a nice, warm, sunny day in early October, we get all night games played at 40 degrees or less that don't end until midnight or later.

All in the name of money and tv ratings.

I grew up in the late 50's and early 60's living and breathing baseball, listening to Harry Caray on the radio, and worshipping my heroes.

It's so tainted and watered down now, it's not even a blip on my radar screen.

I have no problem with the Yankees. If paying 1/2 billion a year on players makes their business model work, more power to them. Go watch college ball if you want purity.

The other night while watching the game I had a fire going, a fire in the fireplace while watching baseball doesn't go well together.
