Apparently.

In this age of 24-hour news, news must sometimes be manufactured., posted on November 4, 2009 at 09:13:30

As I mentioned in another thread, regional elections like the races for governor in NJ and VA have nothing to do with national politics. Nothing. Zero. Zip.

That reminds me, I need to tune into Fox for awhile today. I want to see what they have to say about the upstate NY results -- the only race of the three Fox was having a fake orgasm over -- where a democrat will be going to Washington to represent that area for the first time since the Civil War.

What is Fox going to do to manufacture news next? Keep tabs on the number of red and blue sweaters Macy's sells over the Holiday Season, since people's preferences might be a good indicator of Obama's approval rating?

Are you sure one of those faux-foundation funded lobbyists hasn't outsourced writing this stuff to China?

They go back and forth as they always have, but Danny-Boy brings up an interesting point, posted on November 4, 2009 at 08:14:05

Accidently of course, but I think it's interesting nonetheless that Danny finds pride in how Liberals aren't anywhere near as conflicted as Conservatives.

What does this tell us?

It tells us that Conservatives THINK about the ramifications of who they vote for. Conservatives VALUE their vote and want to make it count. Conservatives CONSIDER the issues and reflect on them. Essentially what we all already know but I think it needs repeating: Conservatives are reasonable people.

Liberals on the other hand? According to Danny they're pulling one lever in the booth and they're not particularly critical thinkers. Does that make them effective as a monolithic voting bloc that can be counted on ask how high when told to jump? Certainly! So....they've got that going for them, which is nice.

LOL, yes, your the epitome of the thinker. nt, posted on November 4, 2009 at 08:15:31

From your recent posts, it certainly doesn't seem like it.

It's more complicated than that: remember that 37% of Conservatives are conflicted in up to 3 major pillars of, posted on November 3, 2009 at 20:00:49

The old party they sued to vote for is shattered between the Gordon Gekkos and the raving christian nutjobs, they have no possible candidates for the presidency and no policies that are anything other than fairy tales.
Of course those thinking themselves conservatives are conflicted.

But who knows what they will be doing in 3 years when they have realised that the GOP has nothing to offer on a national scale?
At the moment the opposition can be a headless chicken and it doesn't show because it's not really running round, but when there is another election, someone is going to have to be pout up as a candidate and then we'll see.... see if another fall guy like McBain comes along or another vote loser like Palin... or just maybe a candidate with a real chance of winning.
If Obama can really put the economy to rights then I would say the Republicans have no chance.
At the moment there are green shoots.
But certain ever desperate wingnuts prefer to pee on them rather than anything else.
The negativity emanating from the right wing is hideous... hilarious but hideous.
We shall see.
