It looks like this election is far more important than what was made of it recently here at the WC. Seems Scozzafava is actually a RINO who just endorsed the Democrat against the Conservative. Guess I can't say that I should be surprised, since the GOP essentially supported the Conservative.

I was listening to Chris Matthews who guested on the Michael Smerconish show this morning, and although I remain convinced he's a barking MoonBat, Matthews did have a lucid moment this morning and offered this interesting insight: That quitting is the new political direction. He remarked on Palin(R) quitting her post in Alaska, Spector(D from R) quitting his post in Pennsylvania, and now Scozzafava(R) backing the Democrat. Matthews said "You should dance with the one that brung ya", and it reminded me of my German grandmother who always said the same thing in times when it it was the appropriate thing to say.

Scozzafava is interesting because at first glance she does appear to be a Moderate, until you realize that aside from being pro NRA, she actually leans quite a bit to the Left on most other matters.

I read quite a bit here at the WC that the Right is too far right and it needs to move left to center if it wants to become relevant, etc. If that is true, doesn't it at least become somewhat intriguing for the Left to consider reforming its stance toward the NRA? What if the Left were to work with the NRA toward a more responsible existence/application of 2nd amendment rights where the Left rigorously supported the amendment but stood by responsible reform that all reasonable people could abide? Would this not be acceptable AND a move to the center as well?

Yes, that crazy Liberal. Some perspective and proper framing...., posted on November 2, 2009 at 07:27:09
