Good to see Financial-Industry Profits As A Share Of U.S. Business Profits

and Pay Per Worker In The Financial Sector As A Percentage Of Average U.S. Compensation.

(There are 2 charts in the article)

What's not surprising is the last paragraph. I am a pessimist at heart, and the signs say this is going to be global extreme depression. The great depression we faced in the US was kindergarden/nursery school level compared to what's to come. It's not even economics 101, if you understand what has been happening it's completely seeable.

I'm also under what's called the "conspiracy" theorists, if this is indeed by design, I see no more USA, but some sort of North American Union.

I have given up hope with the old USA country, perhaps it's for the best. The American experiment is over. The constitution is already teared to shreds so let's just join Canada and Mexico together with the US to to work together with the EU, Asia and the rest of the world. There's no sense in fighting, the system is already severely broken.

Kind of nice tight concise sentences and a limit of 100 words.
What was "the old USA country"?

And WHEN was it?

And PLEASE, no criticising other people's answers. I think this is one to simply read each person's view... don't you?

I wish I could disagree with you. But I can't. I also think we are living in the last days of the "old USA". However, I have not given up hope, But then my hope is not placed in a country. Though a stable country goes a very long way towards helping hope to stay alive

That said, there are a lot of people who are disillusioned by the political & economic climate. Many are trying to make a stand of sorts in hopes of righting the country. Will it be successful? Hard to say. But giving up is not my style and is usually not good either. My concern is that the pendulum doesn't ever center itself but swings to the other side which is just usually the opposite end of the same thing

Anyway. Keep your chin up. There are a bunch who see the same thing hoping we are wrong. Yer not alone in this

to quote you:

"Though a stable country goes a very long way towards helping hope to stay alive"

That's really all I am concerned about at this point. Perhaps even keep the standard of living (although marginally lower it will be). Staying in a stable country is what's needed firstly. Whether that's a union of some sort or whatever it is (even martial law for awhile, while the south goes batshit), fine by me at this point. As long as I can raise a family and not worry that the land mass we live on will be obliterated, we will not starve, and that we have food, clothing, shelter I'm fine with it.

According to many right wingers, the president of the United States is in the pocket of big business (right wing), supporting militarism (right wing) helping the banks (right wing)and not getting things done (right wing).
So what exactly are you using for evidence?
Or are you calling your fellow wingers "liars" and "propagandists"?

Leaving them with little to cling to but their sense of entitlement.
Obama doesn't seem to be dangerously socialist at all, nor has he ordered every sword be beaten into a plough.
He has supported banks and businesses, to help preserve jobs and halt the economic slide.
He has remained staunchly AMERICAN.
"But what should we do?" ask the winger brethren in hundreds of emails they send central control weakly... sorry... weekly.
"We need someone to tell us what to think, what to say"
Sadly the answers seem to be limited to talking up Fox News and blabbering about birth certificates, both of which must seem a little underachieving for even the most desperate of wingers.
So it goes.

Obama will look for compromises, and I think what he will support, as a solution, is to cap the exposure that any financial firm has in the market. The connections between commercial and investement banks must severed as far as ownership. It's this over-exposure to specuation, and secrecy about it, that makes the economy so unstable. Economic instability threatens the security of any country, and without that security, there will be chaos, the wild west. The financial sector has been running the 'show' in large part, dictating which laws are enforced, and which ones are not. They have also had a powerful influence on whatever political content might be gleaned from films and TV and radio. They have systematically limited the choices of what we consume with very few practical alternatives (small businesses). There were benefits for many, for a time, but those have been dissolved and exposed as fiction. It is the very institutions that cry out for protection from government intrusion that could much more realistically be described as fascist, or socialist.
