For those over seas who haven't seen what the the US cops look like in awhile, there were jokes about tazers below, but just wait. You'll just hear about people detained in the US, and martial law. Nothing to worry about really...

Just more fall out from the endless war on drugs. I'm glad to see someone else has picked up on it. If they made "The Andy Griffith Show" now I could just see Andy rolling his eyes when Barney showed up to work in one of these getup's. "Now Barney I let it slide when you got that one bullet, but this time you've done gone to far."

That was pleasantly droll..., posted on November 1, 2009 at 00:40:51

...reminds me of some crowd control measures held on the sidelines during a few anti Iraq war peace marches in Wash DC during Bush's term.

Armored presence may have intimidated, mounted police may have resembled centurions on their fine steeds, but when the drummers came marching by you could see the tension in the horses' eyes regardless of conditioning. 250k people chanting kumbayah is a fearsome sight.

You could tell by the look of some DC police how much alike we were either side of the line, so to speak - much compassion vs appreciation for extra duty pay, both parties most willing to play the game.

ADS "microwave toaster" is news, though defeatable with shielding (thick mattress, metalized board, tin foil hats ;) ).

(AAAWWWSHUCKS... what will people think of doing next - we need a real foe to worry about like some hostile reptilian species fron outer space or something.)
