for the first time in awhile...what a great LP, sound and music.

I'd like to know if anyone has bought the CD and if they did a good job transferring the tapes to digital.

I may be able to get a CD made, I think my friend Dr. John may have borrowed and recorded it to his hard-drive. But it would be nice to know that the CD is "worthy" or not.

You may also want to try 'Ellington Indigos' by Ellington on Columbia 6-eyes. Nance has a violin solo on Autumn Leaves that is a shocker---sonically and emotionally.

Direction...I need direction!

That's why I think it's important for "What's spinning" lists to be posted. Owning lots of LPs and CDs makes it difficult to make a choice sometimes.

The spinning lists jog the few living brain cells I own so it's not as difficult to make the choice.

Definitely a record worth buying when at Jerry's.

Per Allmusic guide to Jazz, 4th edition. Three stars. The violinists were Ray Nance, Stephen Grappelli, with Svend Asmussen on viola. Record date Feb 22, 1963 on Atlantic.
