Someone posted a week or two ago about getting vinyl from Freddys. I ordered the 2-LP Brothers in Arms and got it yesterday. It was about 10 bucks cheaper than the usual suspects.

It was packaged in a peculiar fashion (way too big of a box and lotsa foam peanuts) but survived fine. The thing is, this is a pretty noisy pressing. It's the same one that's sold elsewhere. Maybe I got one from the end of the line or something.

Great sonics between the clicks though.

Wow, I live in Portland and visit the stores regularly and never see them at these low prices. I just bought the Nirvana ORG reissues at Everday Music (ripoff) for $28/ea. FM regular price is $24.98 (the correct MSRP) but they are selling them for $18.49/ea. That is a smoking deal. Plus free shipping over $25?

Plus the brick and mortar stores inventory really sucks. Just left over "Back to Black" drek. I'm doing all my shopping on line now.

Clean it new vinyl needs to be seriously cleaned before playing. You might also antistatic it with a Zerostat gun and floating around in peanuts will cause a huge amount of static to build up on the record.

I did clean it but good point about static. /nt, posted on November 6, 2009 at 09:49:01
