Does anyone have this on LP? If so, how does it sound? I saw a copy at a record store the other day and wondering if I should pick it up. Thanks!

Playing this Tuesday afternoon:
*HENRY MANCINI - "The Mancini Touch" c. 1960
RCA Victor #LPM-2101
Recording Engineer: Al Schmitt

Recorded at RCA Victor's Music Center of The World, Hollywood, CA, on August 10, 11 & 14, 1959.

Shelly Manne via Contemporary Records (another favorite artist of mine) is a guest studio musician with Mancini (drums) on the album.

A great album! Every cut a classic, and even on an original RCA mono the sonics and clarity absolutely soar on my stereo. Highly impressed.

Translation: Don't wait to buy a Mancini album. If you like the quality of the vinyl, like the album's price, buy it! I've never had a Mancini album where I said: "I can't stand this music, I'll never play it again".

I really like the Martinis with Mancini. It is a great compilation.

High sensitivity, wide dynamic range, low distortion, and smooth frequency response. Pwk

BTW, has anyone seen the "Living Stereo" version?, posted on November 6, 2009 at 16:32:00

That's the CD but I suppose it's on LP as well.

If it's $10 or less I'd snag it. But I'm a Mancini mark. I like all of it.

That's one I don't have, but there hasn't been one yet I've hated.

I don't know this recording, however, all of my Mancini records are great... Peter Gun, and More Peter Gun are absolutely fabulous..both sound and music. Combo, Mr. Lucky, Mr. Lucky goes Latin...all great.

I picked up a good copy a few months ago. Well worthy of the TAS list.
