An open apology to member Amandarae

Please accept my sincere apologies for the frustration and delay we have caused you regarding lack of response to email communication from last year regarding your pulley problem.

I know this is many months late but it was only yesterday (Nov 4th) that another forum member (thank you BK) mentioned during the course of a telephone conversation that you had made a posting some time ago on this forum about the difficulty you were experiencing in eliciting a response and resolution from us regarding your problem.

We cannot offer you any excuse as we have failed you due to the communication breakdown. However I would like to explain our apparent disappearance, in particular leaving you at a loss as to resolution of your problem.

Shortly after we exchanged initial email communication all those months ago we suffered a major computer hard drive failure, including our back-up, and lost access to our files, customer details and email history.

To cut a long story short we struggled for many months to recover as many files as we could. Not an easy task as you can imagine. We still have about 20 GB of files left to recover.

We also had problems with our IP based telephone system, so although our telephone contact details have always been available on our web site, there may have been instances when even telephone contact may have caused frustration.

Also during this time I have committed another sin and not visited this forum. Therefore until now I was unaware of the concerns you has posted here. I totally understand your frustration and annoyance toward us..

At the time of our system failure we wrongly assumed that you were returning the pulleys for us to check and sort you out with replacements. We overlooked this and I apologise for the fact that we failed miserably here.

We did post on our web site front page that we were struggling to recover information and please bear with us. To compound our struggle we discovered along the way that our email server was arbitrarily diverting messages to a hidden spam folder and deleting others without regard or our knowledge.

We think we have finally sorted out the email issue and continue to restore files. The telephone system also appears to be functioning as it should.

Forum member BK very kindly gave me your email address and I immediately sent you a message of apology.

I am very embarrassed in that we have failed you in this instance and sincerely hope we can still resolve your pulley problem.

Thanks for letting me know. It's been more than a year when I posted my complaint. I explained to you my reason why I posted the warning in the email I sent you just recently. I wish I can take that post back if I knew about your difficulties.

Let's continue to discuss this thing privately. I already responded to the most recent PM you sent me.

Best regards,

Abe

He has repair parts for Kenwoods (among other things).

How cool is that? My Kenwood KD500 is fine, but one never knows, do one?

There is no such thing as too many records.
There is just too little room for them!

I head a KD-500 with a Fidelity Research arm and cartridge a long time ago. It sounded quite good. I would want to keep it running too!
