I checked with VPI, they no longer sell the Sorbothane puck mod for the HW-19 TT's. Has anyone done ther own DIY equivalent mod. Where did you get the Sorbothane? Thanks, David

a peek in my gallery you can see what I did. Herbie's Big Foot dampers and VPI spring "tops".

McMaster Carr sells Sorbothane that you could use as a diy project.

VPI does now sell another type of Plinth support for the HW-19 on their website. I believe pics are posted somewhere, perhaps the site?

Other options I looked into myself, but haven't purchased as of yet, were something like Herbies Tenderfeet, or Herbies Iso Cups. I believe the cut-out for the Pucks in the Wood Base is something like 1.5" diameter. Mark

I have the plinth of my 19 Junior sitting on 3 PVC plumbing couplers (can't remember offhand if the diameter is 2 or 3 inches) with a layer of adhesive-backed felt between the PVC and the plinth. The whole thing is sitting on the top an Ikea Lack end table, on top of my audio rack. It was a definite improvement over the sorbothane. It now sounds a little cleaner throughout, but especially in the bass, which has helped the rhythmic performance of the table. Still sounds like a VPI, but a better one and for all of $20.
