I thought this was interesting. Mothers, fathers, who knew?

note that in this very exacting process for remastering that Technics SP-15 and SP-10 Mk 2 or 3 have been selected for playback auditioning. (see 11/3/09 post) Yes, some parts replacements may be advantageous, along with an update of the quality OMA plinth. But if they were not accurate do you believe engineers like Meyer would choose them?

And thanks noroom for posting.

Don't know if Meyer mentions this in the interview, but when he was doing this job at Sony, he worked on a Rockport Sirius. So that would be the point of comparison.

I found that interesting.

In my conversations with him, he went with the Technics SP15 because it was easier to modify to run backwards to play a father using a negative profile stylus than the SP10.

Nice article Thanks!!

It was good to see Mosaic get back to doing vinyl box sets with this year’s Monk at the It Club. I have a lot of great sounding box sets from them. I hope they continue.

Thanks for that. I've been tempted already by the Artie Shaw box, having heard the Gramercy Five sessions on CD a couple of years back. Like the Benny Goodman small groups, these sessions really swing.

Funny, I just read it and came here to post about it. Excellent article... very reassuring to know that there are people who STILL insist on doing it the right way. Hopefully there will be an update on the site once Andreas Meyer gets his custom Technics in the OMA slate plinth to play positives and negatives.
