A mastering engineer that worked on some popular albums that are now regarded as "classic rock". He liked to sign his lacquers sometimes as Porky or Pecko Duck. Just do a google search using the term Pecko Duck. Lots of answers come up.

I don't have a photo, but they hired Andy Gill, guitarist from Gang of Four to produce and Enigma records hadn't paid him at the time the lp was mastered.

"Pay Andy" is written in the Dead Wax.

. . . some of the most entertainingly subversive people I know are engineers. When you deal all day with immutable laws of physics and material science, a little irrational fun goes a long way. Just check out the Caltech pranks, or Richard Feynman's memoires, e.g.

(full disclosure: I am a card-carrying member of the profession, though originally a cement head CE/SE and therefore not privy to the inner sanctum occupied by the MEs)

Isn't that an oxymoron? (nt), posted on June 11, 2012 at 05:37:39

I've a cool story with Mr. Peckham. A few years ago I found a white label 7" which had about 3 songs per side, in what was clearly a demo. Obviously, it being a white label there was no way of knowing the name of the band. But the 7" had a "porky" inscription, and I already knew about George Peckham and there also was an inscription that pointed to the studio where this was recorded, plus some kind of abstract description of the session. Being the vinyl obsessive that I am, I managed to track down George Peckham's email and I asked him if he could remember what the band was. A couple of days later he answered saying that he had been in charge of hundreds or thousands of different pressings through his active years and there was no way of remembering the name of the band with the information I gave him. He kindly suggested that I contact the studios in case they had any records of the band and wished me the best of luck. I did contact the studio but I'm still waiting for an answer.
I have the 7" at home so I'll post the information I have when I return tonight.
Top man, Mr. Peckham.

Ok, these are the inner inscriptions of the 7" white (grey actually) label demo sesion I found:

Side A
A Porky Prime Cut
Orlake
It's Free the Uckfield 900
Post + 5 + A

Side B
Porky
Orlake
Trans-Explosion Pop Attack?
Post + 5 + B

It sounds late 80s early nineties jangle/shoegazer/punkie... very over the place.

P.S. I just made a new search for the inscriptions and it seems to be the following:

http://www.discogs.com/Various-Transatlantic-Pop-Explosion/release/2227129

So maybe it's not a demo but a 7" EP I'm just missing the cover! I guess that's why it sounds all over the place... Anyway, my opinion of Mr. Peckham still stands.
