Anyone interested in restoring AR loudspeakers should look up Roy Champagne near Albany, NY. Roy is a real gentleman and very knowledgeable about Acoustic Research speakers and probably other vintage speakers too. I just got back my AR58s that I've had since 1981 and they sound and look great. You can email him at speaker.rx@gmail.com

 Nice, NICE job! Great speaker those AR's. What gear are you showing there? Looks like at least one Sansui tuner?

 There were several versions of the 58. Yours is the earliest, with a dome midrange, and was available for a short time. The majority of 58's out there have cone midranges. Many feel that your speaker is the last true descendent of the AR3.

I really have enjoyed hooking these up and playing my vinyl from back in the day. It's kind of eerie playing the same albums on these that I played 30 years ago, it's almost like going back in time.
