I realize this is a site specifically for home stereo, but, this is the tweakers section and I am requesting help on what you suggest as audio/electronically knowledgeable members.
Ive purchased an old school amp which essentially is arounds 15 years old, they often have significantly better quality design than much newer amps.
They're often have better specifications which are realistic compared to overinflated specs of newer amps.
My intention is to replace "old" components which deteriorate over time so that I can have trouble free use for many years to come.
My intention is to replace at least the electrolytic caps with quality 105 degree caps . Do you recommend any other components to "rebuild" this one ?
I have enclosed a pix of my model amp.
Your suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

If the unit works, I'd just change out the 'lytics and use the amp. How many watts is it rated at?

Looks like the guts of a Precision Power 2x75. I think they rated 75w 4-ohms and about 110 2-ohms.

You are indeed correct that is a PPI 2075 model and it is 75 watts.
I know auto stereo questions are rarely discussed here. Thanks for the response.

I am assuming transistors age well ? Otherwise I will only change out the Capcitors.....

Thanks

Even the electrolytics may be just fine. I'd leave them alone, or maybe pull one from the hottest location, and test it. Nearly all the caps that I've seen fail were exposed to serious heat for long periods, like in a power supply next to a hot regulator.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here.

I installed some well used PPI Sedona series 4 and 2 channels amps in a nephews truck a few years ago. Still good ...about 20 years.

Run it hard before buttoning up the install. The original 2075's were very quick and dynamic, they were great on decent front stage separates.
