Just wondering if there are any tweakers with the skilled hands of a surgeon that may have tried the teflon tape on their phono cartrige contacts.

I like wrapping the tone arm. Seemed to tighten everything up.

Tried wraping a Grado but didn't like the outcome.
It seemed to overdamp it and make the sound duller.

I do vacuum tubes routinely., posted on October 30, 2009 at 12:01:14

But it sure doesn't take the 'skilled hands of a surgeon' (trust me on that). Just take a length (maybe 8") of the teflon tape, start with one pin, loop it around twice, continue to the next pin, do the same, and so on. Snip off any overage. Carts would be just as simple.

That certainly would take steadier hands than mine have been in, well, their entirety.

I did use some teflon tape as a "gasket" between nut/screw/cart mount to absorb some vibrations
between them, but can't say as I detected any sound difference let alone improvement.

Doing that (and it looks pretty sloppy I'm embarrassed to say) was enough of a PIA that no way would
I attempt what you're asking. Tempting idea though...
