tunerquestion
Hi, I can have a small antenna on the roof with a rotator connected to it, or a large antenna on the roof without rotator. Which do you recommend?
thanks

Save more money for a large antenna with rotor if tuner is 60 miles from favorite stations?

i'm up in the mountains but only about 20miles away from stations; however i would be very happy if i could capture swiss stations which are about 120mi away, is that possible?

Then, small antenna & rotator. 120 miles is too far.

VHF transmissions, like FM, are primarily line of sight. Unless the receiving antenna is on a TALL mast, the curvature of the Earth's surface will block out reception, from a source 120 miles away.

Picking up those Swiss signals is a very significant engineering problem. You will need a rhombic antenna that is several wave lengths long on each side. That's downright large. I suspect a tower and guy wires are needed to obtain both tallness and strength. What are the local land use regulations like? Even if the legal hurdles can be dealt with, MUCHO DINERO is involved.
