Got an hp 12ax7 tube today made by RCA and as you can see in pic it says the tube is aged. Is that possibly hp lingo for saying it's had a burn in testing period before being released to be used by their repair techs? Just an educated guess on my part but I have never seen this before today anyone know for sure? This tube anything special?

Tube makers have aging racks, where the devices are under power for some time. Newly made tubes are not ready for shipment, before aging.

That tube of yours was made by RCA and it will serve you well. Type after type, RCA made GOOD tubes. RCA is a safe choice, when considering replacing a bottle in some specific socket.

I momentarily thought someone had put it in their basement on a non charged rack and left it there for a decades. You know only special occasions.

Bad knees, sore back, achy wrists and in need of a hip replacement.
That's what it means to me. ;-}

Means they are burned in and ready to be installed. Some new tubes may have excess gases or gassy from factory. Power was applied to the heater to absorb excess gasses and the tube was retested to make sure no shorts and leakages out of ordinary and everything is according to their (HP) design spec. "Aged" tubes are QA'd by HP and repacked so they are ready to be used off the shelf by the field service technician or the repair centers. HP made very sensitive tube based electronics measuring equipment and quality of tubes is very important to them.
