My weekend system uses a Jadis Orchestra tube amp and it's time the tubes were pitched. Anyone have a recommendation for tubes? If you require more system info see my profile, ( lake system ).
Thanks Tim

I don't know what types of tubes that you use but here is my experience with Jadis(I use both an older amp (Defy 7 Mk IV) and Preamp (JP80 MC). When I retubed my amp about a year ago (18 tubes), I went from 6550's to Gold Lion KT-88's and was amazed at the incredible difference in sound quality. I then ordered replacement tubes for my preamp which I haven't installed yet but was recommended to talk to Jim McShane (see tubes asylum). His knowledge of tubes, sonic quality and overall performnce is quite astounding. You may want to check it out. Hope this helps.

I also switched out a mixture of half dead EL-34s in my DA -60 for McShane supplied GL-reissue-KT88s couldn't have beeen happier. The Orchestra is a different amp. My friend took out KT-90s and put in JJ EJ-34s (E34L blue glass actually) with great satisfaction. He did need to rebias it and it was the Orchestra Reference. He posts over on Audiogon I would look for his Jadis threads under the Tag Trelja. There was a recent post to this effect.
