An awkward thought. I have heard suggestions that the brand name 'wstern electric' has been sold, and that any new stuff will not be 'genuine'....it will be one of those brands like 'mullard' that use Russian valves in a cynical branding exercise. Hope that is untrue, but I am not optimistic......

"I have heard suggestions that the brand name 'western electric' has been sold,"

Do you mean again?

The last Western Electric 300B's made by the original Western Electric company were made in 1988.

The WE tubes that we all know, from then on, are some of the same people and some of the same tooling but it has not been the same company, only in name.
