Russian FT2 teflon caps proof you don't need the 600v rated ones.

You can see the leakage is zero ua and is non existent at 765vdc..

On this .1uf at 600v k40y I get 75.4ua of leakage at 826vdc. I went higher this cap because of its rating but notice the leakage at the over voltage.

" The FT2 .1uf reads .1030uf at 765vdc.

The reason I made this post was show you that you don't need the physically larger FT3 caps for 400v and 630v applications..The FT2s are the same length but you save diameter size and they look nicer because they fit in more applications because of size.I have been using them in Sherwoods and Allen 75s in place of 630v caps and I have NEVER had one fail now in 7 years of using them and this is why I just bought another 150 of them.

Mike: This is a totally different question ??? Will your Sencore LC 102 read the impedance of a output transformer ?? Thanks Will

It will read choke values and it will ring yokes and even switchmode transformers to see if they are good but I don't think it will read impedance.
It is very easy to measure the primary impedance of an OPT trafo just using a variac and an AC voltmeter. I'll do a demonstration in pics explaining each step if you want.

Mike: Thanks for your quick answer.....I am familiar with that method, but I have about a hundred transformers to check and was looking for the easy way out......Thanks again Will

I've never known any other method other than calculating the turns ratio and doing the math.
