That design will nail the hum down but it's unlikely it will sound very good , AC will probably sound better . My suggestion is to try a ring of two CCS , rather than a series regulator . CCS connected chip regs sound ok but no-where near as good as a ring of two . If you absolutely must use a series reg , follow it with a laminated choke >30mH . You will need to adjust the output voltage by adding diodes between the reg 0v pin and 0V rail or use an adjustable reg if you do this

ps I don't know what that 1000uF cap on the output of the reg chip will do , I've never seen caps this value used in that place before . It may cause some instability

The LV805CV is a 5V/1.5A fixed voltage regulator, and can support the filament current demand of the 300B, Just use an AC transformer with a secondary voltage of 7.5VAC and current support of at least 1.5A (or more) and you should be good to go...

should i be more clear on my question . I know it is ok for 300b but is this any good ?
as other said I might be go for current reg instead or should this one is a fine one ?
Cheers

Yes, Its "good"....but like Chris-O said, a current reg is better to use...

Better to use a current reg than a voltage reg. You can use a LT1085 "floating" with a +or- 1 ohm resistor between the output and adjustor legs.
