I have been searching for something like the star terminals shown in "Building Valve Amplifiers" by Morgan Jones on page 143 and I can't find anything...

What is the proper name for these things?

Who makes them?

Where can I buy them?

Thanks!

You do not need anything special. Even a small loop of solid core wire can act as a star point. Don't get too hung up with pretty. Two terminal lugs with 1 inch of wire between them works wonders.

Yeah, but that sure would help neaten things up under the chassis....
I'm curious as to where to get those also....

Make it up yourself by mounting single lugs on a machine screw. Don't forget flat washers at each end of the stack and a lock washer under the end nut.

Mouser stock #s 534-7329 and 534-7330 appear suitable.

I've actually done that before...didn't really like it...
I broke the machine bolt because I tightened it too hard trying to
get an uber contact between all the lugs...

I ended up fabricating something out of 14awg copper solid core wire...

That's when you get the big soldering iron or gun out and flow some solder between the lugs. It will be about as uber as it gets.

I have a nice station, but I doubt it can get hot enough for that kinda job! But yeah, I'd imagine joining them with a nice coat of Wondersolder would make for a groovy star ground point...
